New Online Service - Professional Licensee List Download

January 22, 2008

(HELENA) -- The Department of Labor and Industry's Business Standards Division announced today the launch of a new eGovernment service, Professional Licensee List Download. The service enables customers to purchase complete lists of individuals, businesses, and contractors licensed with the State of Montana.

The e-gov solution, at Web page address

gives customers the ability to create a customized list of licensees by selecting the board type, license type and license status. They can further narrow their selection by choosing to purchase the entire list, Montana licensees only, out-of-state licensees only or select a specific county or counties. The list can be downloaded to their computer and can be retrieved with a receipt number within 24-hours of purchase.

Customers, such as those who provide continuing education and those who recruit licensees, will benefit from the new system. Prior to the online service the list had to be prepared by the staff at the Business Standards Division and the only accepted forms of payment were check or cash. The online service eliminates the paper process, allows customers the ability to pay with a credit/debit card and provides customers their list within minutes.

"I am very excited to offer another opportunity for our customers to conduct their business with the Department of Labor and Industry online," said Governor Brian Schweitzer. "This new service is convenient for the consumer and saves the taxpayers money."

The Professional Licensee List Download application is the result of an alliance between state government and the private sector. The system was cooperatively developed and is supported by the Montana Department of Labor, Business Standards Division, the Montana Department of Administration's Information Technology Services Division and Montana Interactive, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment provider NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV).
