As a part of Global Youth Service Day 2008 AmeriCorps members, Alumni, youth, and community participants gathered to make a difference in the community of Helena Montana.
Partnering with Helena Indian Alliance, S.A.V.E. Foundation, Carroll College Softball weekend and Prickly Pear Land Trust the day started off with volunteers gathering at the Carroll College Cube listening to words of encouragement by Kathy Bean from the Governor’s Office of Community Service and Matt Eleassesser from the S.A.V.E Foundation.
The volunteers broke into groups and proceeded onto their sites to beautify gardens, recycle, build trails and collect clothing. The day ended with Frisbee, pizza and a reflection about the day of service and how proud everyone was to take part in it.
