Select Committee on Efficiency in Government

The Legislature's Select Committee on Efficiency in Government is asking the public to take part in a survey and provide suggestions to increase government efficiency in Montana.

During the 2011 legislative session, the Montana Legislature formed a select committee on efficiency in government. The legislation that created the select committee requires that members investigate:

• Health Care: Access; Delivery; Affordability; Medicaid
• Technology: Availability; Access; Development; Deployment; Use; Integration
• Natural Resources: Incentives for and Impediments to Development; Adding Value; Transporting; and Conservation

The committee is seeking specific recommendations in those topic areas, as well as general suggestions for making government more efficient. The committee meets Thursday and Friday in Helena and also is planning on conducting future meetings at other locations around the state as determined by the committee. The committee must complete its study by September 15, 2012 and report its recommendations and findings to the 2013 Legislature.
